Maa Ganga, the celestial river goddess, is the epitome of purity and is believed to cleanse the tenfold impurities of body, speech, and mind. That year, the Mandali undertook a sacred journey from Gangotri to Gangasagar, collecting holy water. The unique pooja included the Ganga Sahasra Suvasini Pooja (with 1000 married women), Ganga Sahasra Kalasabhisheka, Ganga Homa, and Ganga Harathi performed by Varanasi’s esteemed priests.
